Weekly Overview 30th November – 6th December
Well hello and welcome, bingo enthusiasts! Thank you for joining me in this weekly overview of our blog – a snap shot of what we presented you with over the past few days – for everyone’s convenience and for the occasional lazy reader out there.
Soooo..we begun the week with introducing ourselves, like the polite and well behaved bunch we are, so in case you have missed it – we officially went live this week and you can always refer back to this post if ever you forget who we are and what are we trying to achieve with our site and this blog in particular (..if it happens too often you may want to spend some time away from the screen, out breathing some fresh air).
Gala Coral’s Sale – Then we looked at Caledonia Investments’ acquisition of Gala Coral’s retail division. Gala, with it’s over 1 million subscribers and 130 bingo clubs and their online bingo business, is also in the process of entering a partnership with Ladbrokes. The UK Gambling Commission is not happy with the merge, fearing monopolising of the online gambling market in the country. We will keep monitoring the latest developments on this for you, so stay tuned.
Top 3 Celebrity Bingo Ads – Later on in the week we went onto something funny – some hilarious ads in the bingo industry. If you fancy seeing an enormous Spice Girl and foxes covered in cake or dancing Thom Evans, some pug and donuts, you should head there, it is all covered (..sadly so is he..Thom that is..could’ve lost that top..just sayin’..).
eGR Operator Awards 2015 – We obviously didn’t miss the eGR Operator Awards in London and you can find a complete list of the winners and the commended companies on our blog. Gala took the big prize of Operator of the year, the evening wasn’t too bad for names as Sky Betting & Gaming, Bet365 and Paddy Power either – they won in their respective categories.
Betway is financing Davis Cup and Fed Cup – In our last post for the week we covered Davis and Fed Cups latest sponsor – Betway. The agreement was officially announced during the final of the Davis Cup and if all goes as planned will last for up to 2018. Don’t worry Rolex fans, the “Official Timekeeper” of the Davis Cup competition is there to stay, they have also renewed their sponsorship.
This is it so far, as you can see we are gaining momentum and our team is already growing, bringing you carefully handpicked information from the world of Bingo and online gaming. Do get in touch if you haven’t found what you are looking for here or just to say hello.
