Betway’s New Venture – Financing the Davis Cup and Fed Cup

Betway has expanded its presence in the world of sport, this time in the field of tennis. The bookmaker announced recently its agreement with the International Tennis Federation (ITF), to become a sponsor and partner of the Tournament Davis Cup and Fed Cup BNP Paribas. As you sure know, the Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s tennis and the Fed Cup is awarded to the best amongst women teams. Betway holds a Maltese as well as UK licence and is an online operator with a number of bookmakers offices, casinos, bingo and poker sites.

The official announcement of the agreement on partnership was made during the final of the Davis Cup, which was held in Ghent between Belgium and the UK from 27th to 29th November of the past year. The sponsorship deal will help the Betway brand obtain the right to use all the advertising opportunities of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. Betway will also have access to all the digital channels of the tournaments.

The brand is to be the main sponsor of the tournament until 2018 and they were the international sponsor of the recent Fed Cup Final in Prague (14-15 November), as well. The President of ITF, David Haggerty, rushed to allay any fears following accusations of match-fixing in tennis against the organisation. He insisted all the elements of this new partnership fully complied with the anti-corruption policies and programs in tennis.

The announcement comes shortly after the news for the renewals of the international  sponsorship contracts of Adecco for both – Davis Cup and Fed Cup, and Davis Cup’s international sponsor – Rolex.
